WordPress is basically an application that you install on your hosting account at Hostgator.Here is how you go about doing so -

Step 1) Log In To Your Hostgator CPanel

Just log in to your Hostgator cpanel, if you are new to web hosting and are not sure of how to do this, please follow the next paragraph.
Visit yourdomain.com/cpanel, the username and password will be provided to you by Hostgator in a separate mail which they would have sent earlier.
After you have logged in, please follow the next step.
Once you are logged into cpanel of your Hostgator account, just scroll down to find the section “Software/Services” and click on the “Quickinstall” button.
WordPress software will be downloaded and installed and you are now ready to use your new WordPress self hosted blog.

Once you are in the Quickinstall section, you will see an option called WordPress, choose that and enter your domain name on which you want to have the WordPress blog, leave the rest of the blanks as they are.WordPress software will be downloaded and installed and you are now ready to use your new WordPress self hosted blog.
Step 4) Access WordPress
You can access your WordPress account on your blog by just entering the url yourdomain.com/wp-admin, the username and password will be emailed to you by WordPress.So that’s it and congratulations, you just set up a WordPress blog on Hostgator hosting!
